One of the primary beliefs of our Catholic faith is the God-given dignity of every human person. As Pope Francis wrote: “The dignity of others is to be respected in all circumstances, not because that dignity is something we have invented or imagined, but because human beings possess an intrinsic worth superior to that of material objects and contingent situations. This requires that they be treated differently. That every human being possesses an inalienable dignity is a truth that corresponds to human nature apart from all cultural change. For this reason, human beings have the same inviolable dignity in every age of history and no one can consider himself or herself authorized by particular situations to deny this conviction or to act against it.” (Pope Francis, On Fraternity and Social Friendship [Fratelli Tutti], no. 213)
In light of this understanding that we as followers of Christ are called to uplift and protect the dignity of every person, the Co-Cathedral is inviting you to participate in two days of fasting and prayer on Thursday, January 22nd as we pray for the legal protection of unborn children and Friday, January 23rd as a special day of prayer for truth and freedom in solidarity with migrants and immigrants.
Jesus Christ is truly the rock on whom we rely, and in that spirit and the spirit of our own unity as a church of believers, you are welcomed to join us for any or all of the following prayer opportunities on Friday, January 23rd in the Chapel.

1:00 pm Candle Vigil with the opportunity to offer written personal intentions
